On the bench Kemenes, Tóth T., Kovács B., Babos, Csongvai, Milicevic, Huszti and Melnyik were waiting for the start. With a view to Saturday's match, the coaching team split the squad into two parts: those who missed Friday's game took part in a training session in the morning.
Our opponents started a bit more actively, first a cross was headed out by our defenders, then Marinin's 17-metre shot missed the target. In the 10th minute, we came close to taking the lead: after Simut's cross from the right, Patrik Kovács slid in, and Milán Pető's close-range shot was saved by the Slovenian goalkeeper. Shortly afterwards, 17-year-old Tamás Horváth, playing his first adult international pre-season game, outjumped Patrik Kovács, but the ball went over.
In the 22nd minute, Bálint Szabó's shot was blocked by the defenders, although during this period of the game, neither goal were in danger. In the 33rd minute, the Slovenians had a free kick from the edge of the penalty area; Marinin's curling shot hit the top bar. Mátyás Kovács received a good ball from Bálint Szabó, who drifted slightly and missed the goal.
In the 44th minute Grosuplje took the lead: after a corner, the referee ruled that the ball hit Simut's hand, a penalty was awarded. Zorica fired the penalty past Gergely Nagy, who dived to his right, into the bottom left corner of the goal (0-1).
At the break we made one substitution, Bence Babos replaced Mátyás Kovács. In the 50th minute the Slovenian team increased their lead: Jasaragic received a good free kick on the left, our defenders could not tackle him and he did not miss the target to fire in and make it 0-2.
Fortunately, the reply came quickly: in the 56th minute, Babos' left-wing cross bounced off the body of Patrik Kovács and into the Slovenian goal (1-2). Our team became more and more dangerous, especially with our right wing being active.
Meanwhile, Bence Kovács replaced Bálint Szabó in the 61st minute, and ten minutes later Milan Pető was replaced by Vid Tamás Tóth. In the 77th minute, we missed our best chance so far: Spandler sent a great ball to Patrik Kovács, who could have headed the ball into the goal, but Zrnec won the duel between the two. There was only one more Spandler corner left before the end, after which the ball flew over the goal.
After going two goals down, our young team quickly rallied and created several chances, but could not equalize before the final whistle. The pre-season continues tomorrow, Saturday, also at 11:30 against FK Tekstilac Odžaci.
