It was build as the game of the season, with league leaders Videoton making the journey to Budapest, to face second in the table, Ferencvaros. Vidi were backed in good numbers as the red and blue fans filled their enclosure, and never stopped singing. Gyorgy Mezey's side went into the game with a six points lead, which they have now extended to nine, following this five goal win. Added to that is the fact that Vidi enjoy a superior goal difference over the chasing pack, which is worth another point, and there is every reason to feel that this may just be the season when Videoton finally win their first league title.

League results:

Szolnok - Kecskemet  2-1
Debrecen - Honved  2-2

Kaposvar - Siofok 3-0

Ferencvaros - Vidi  0-5

free kick on the edge of the area, after he was brought down following a good run. He curled a nice shot in off the post, with the defensive wall opening up in front of him, and incredibly it was 4-0 away from home! There was still more to come as Polonkai lobbed the keeper to make it 5-0 after 79 minutes. Nikolics hit the bar following a bad back pass, which he intercepted. In the end Videoton sent out a strong message to the chasing pack that they will be very hard to stop, between now and the end of the season in May.

Vidi have a busy week ahead of them with the return leg of the Hungarian cup ahead of them on Tuesday, and a tough home game against current champions, Debrecen next weekend. A win in that match will more or less settle this season for the red and blues of Fehervar. Vidi were entertaining and exciting to watch at the Albert stadium, and it was very positive to see that they never gave up going forward, looking for the next goal. Star midfield player Akos Elek was forced to miss the match with a slight injury, which made this win even better.
