The two sides played out a draw in a game of few chances at the Groupama.
Videoton visited the home of last seasons champions on Saturday evening. The two sides had 6 points splitting them at kick off. The fixture was the final one of the day so both teams knew that Honved had earlier beaten Debrecen 1-0 at home to go top of the table.
The first 20 minutes saw both teams play with caution and without a serious chance being created in front of either goal. A Hajnal free kick on 20 minutes for the home side ended with Husing making contact and the ball clipped the post. A Ferencvaros corner on the half hour was headed at goal by Husing, with the ball finding Leandro, who turned on goal and shot, but could not beat Kovacsik in the visiting goal. There was still time for a shot from a tight angle by Lazovic, but the ball went over the bar.
The second half started with a chance for the red and blues. A cross from Stopira ended up as a shot that required home keeper Dibusz to tip the ball from under his bar. The Videoton left back was again looking threatening moments later. This time his effort was not as dangerous as the first one had been. There were plenty of healthy battles around the pitch but the game did not produce too many chances. Dibusz connected with Suljic with 20 minutes left inside the box, but referee Szabo waved away the appeals. Lazovic curled his free kick towards the wall, and the ball deflected off Djuricin and away for a corner.
Home substitute Lovrencsics then sent his powerful shot just wide of the post. The final action came in the last minute when a Maric cross was hit over by Hadzic. The 0-0 draw means that Vidi still enjoy a 6 points lead over FTC. However, Honved overtook Vidi to go top of the table, but the two will meet at Felcsut next weekend.
