League Cup: Vidi visit a very strong Debrecen side at their home

Debrecen began their league cup campaign in Group B this season, and won 5 matches and lost the other to go through to the next round. Those six games saw them score 16 goals and concede 5, with a good 5-1 away win at Balmazujvaros among those wins. Debrecen then met Győr in the last 16, losing the first leg 2-1. However, they went through on aggregate thanks to a 3-1 second leg home win. Puskas Academy FC were their next opponents. The first game ended 1-1, but the football association awarded Debrecen a 3-0 technical win after one of the Felcsut players played in that match, even though he was suspended. Debrecen lost the second leg 3-2 but went through 5-3 overall. Slovenian Volas Dalibor is their top goalscorer with 6 goals in the league cup so far.

Debrecen currently lead the division with 5 league matches still to be played, and are also in the final four of the Hungarian cup. Elemer Kondas' side won their first leg 4-2 against DVTK last week.
