Vidi are in Champions League Q2, 2nd leg action on Wednesday night with an important match against Ludogorets of Bulgaria.
A press conference was held on Tuesday afternoon at the Novotel in Szekesfehervar. Manager Marko Nikolic and defender Attila Fiola were on hand to face the media. The hotel conference room was virtually full with around 40 journalists present.
The manager highlighted the battle in the first leg and that we had picked up a favourable result, but it did not mean anything special. The opponents are a very good side that regularly participate in the CL and EL and also in the group stages.
"I hope that the Pancho Arena will be full as the packed stands are important in games like these" - explained Marko Nikolic. He also revealed that the team had not really practiced penalty kicks, but he knows which players will take them if the game ends up in a shootout.
"I feel that we can get the better of our Bulgarian opponents, even if they have very good individual players in the Ludogorets squad. It is important on Wednesday evening to be disciplined in our defending as we did a week ago in Bulgaria. I have had the chance to play against good players in my career so I can confidently say that Ludogorets will be a big challenge to take on" - commented Attila Fiola.
The team had a training session at the Sostoi at 17:30pm, which was open to the media for the first 15 minutes. That included a warm up and the players working with the ball. The team will face the Bulgarian champions at the Pancho Arena at 20:00pm on Wednesday evening.
