Futacs gave Vidi the lead but the home side managed to come from behind to win 2-1.
Our team were in action on Saturday at the home of third place Mezokovesd. Oliver Tamas made his NB I debut in the game.
The first opportunity came for the visitors in the 4th minute, with Hodzic targetting the home goal from a good 30 meters, but his shot went wide. In the 10th minute Kovács showed good skill on the right side, before putting the ball in front of goal, but one of the home defenders was able to clear it briefly, the ball fell in front of Nikolov, who controlled it and then shot at goal from 20 meters, but keeper Szappanos saved. Two minutes later, our young debutant, Olivér Tamás, showed some very nice trickery and then from 18 meters confidently shot at goal, but Szappanos saved it.
Nikolov curled a 19th minute free kick over from 23 meters out. Then the home team had their first real chance on 26 minutes: Vajda found Zivzivadze with a good ball and the forward shot from 10 meters, but keeper Kovacsik did well to parry the shot. Hodzic also sent a curling effort at goal from 18 meters a couple of minutes later. The ball fell invitingly for Futacs, who sent the ball into the back of the net with his head from 9 meters (0-1).
Futacs had another chance after 33 minutes after a fine ball in from Funsho, but a home defender managed to slide in and block the Vidi forward's low shot. Mezokovesd levelled after 35 minutes: Farkas sent a ball in from the right, which Besirovic connected with to find the back of the net (1-1).
Nikolov found Funsho on the right with a fine ball on 40 minutes, and he shot from a tight angle at goal from 12 meters out. Pillar stretched out his leg to block the danger and the ball went out for a corner. The home side were reduced to 10 men after 41 minutes after Nesterov collected his second yellow after bringing down Kovacs. Kovacsik saved a close range header from Karnitski close on half time.
There were no changes made by either team at half time. Stopira sent an impressive shot at goal from 24 meters on 54 minutes, which produced an acrobatic save from the home keeper. Mezokovesd pressed Vidi back for 5-6 minutes and looked dangerous from free kicks and corners, but they could not score.
Stopira turned at goal after 77 minutes after a ball from Petryak, before hitting a left foot shot wide of goal. The real exciting moments lay ahead. First Berecz saw his shot saved by Kovacsik, with the rebound falling to Zivzivadze, but his shot from 4 meters was well saved by Kovacsik. Things did not end there and in the 93rd minute, there was a goalmouth scramble and sub Meskhi eventually found the bottom corner to make the final score 2-1.
Vidi are next in action at the MOL Arena Sosto on Tuesday evening against FTC.
