PRESS CONFERENCE

"Overall, I consider the result realistic"

Tamás Pető and Gábor Korolovszky shared their thoughts on the match, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

Tamás Pető:

"I'm terribly disappointed with our performance today; our fans deserve much better. We started the match well, took the lead, and in the first half, with a few better decisions, we could have had more chances to score a second goal, which might have sealed the match. At halftime, we tried to freshen things up with substitutions because our attacking play—especially in the first half—was very weak. We expected the substitutes to bring some momentum and creativity, but that didn’t work out; the second half was perhaps even weaker than the first. Overall, I consider the result realistic. We knew Soroksár would fight until their last breath, and I prepared the players for that, but in this match, Soroksár wanted it much more. I told the players that in no match should the opponent want it more than we do. Congratulations to Soroksár, because they really gave it their all, while we, unfortunately, did not. It’s worth noting that four of our key players have been missing for weeks now—players who dictate the team’s style of play. I’m thinking of Bedi, Haraszti, Varga Roli, and Zsótér, who were missing today. This team can’t handle it; without these players, this is what the team is capable of."

Gábor Korolovszky:

"I want to congratulate my team on earning a point. It's a big deal for anyone to get a point at Videoton's stadium, let alone in our situation. We fought hard, but we also played well. We conceded a goal early in the match, but we got back into the game pretty quickly and had several shots on the opponent’s goal—though the same goes for Videoton; perhaps they had even more chances to score another goal in the first half. In the second half, we played with confidence and composure, maintaining good possession, and we had several chances. To say we could have won the match might be presumptuous, but we definitely deserved the draw. Congratulations to the team on the draw, and I wish my colleague and friend Tamás Pető all the best for the spring season and the future!"
