The match official from Veszprem has already taken charge of three games this season.
Peter Solymosi will referee Wednesday's Hungarian cup, fifth round, second leg tie at Diosgyőr. The match official from Veszprem is 41 years old. He began his career by playing at a very young age, before passing his refereeing course in 1995. He made his debut in a youth game in the autumn of 1997, between Varpalota and Badacsonytomaj. The experienced official then quickly made his way to the senior level and third division football. Solymosi first took control of a first division game in 2002. That was in a match between MTK and Matav Sopron. He was the official in last season's 3-0 Vidi home win over Debrecen.
He was also handed, perhaps the toughest fixture in Hungarian football last autumn, when he took charge of the Ujpest vs Ferencvaros derby match. He has also been appointed referee in two of Videoton's games last season. Those were the games with ZTE, and the away match at Haladas, which ended in a 2-0 win for the home side. This will be his fourth match involving Vidi having already officiated in the Vidi - Paks (4-1) and Vidi - Kecskemét (1-0) games, and most recently in the Vidi - Puskás Akadémia FC (3-0) OTP league match.
Solymosi will be assisted by Peter Berettyán and Robert Horváth, with the fourth official being Roland Veizel.
