Paulo Sousa spoke at the post match press conference
Paulo Sousa: - "I thought that we began the game well, with the necessary intensity. Our main aim was to create chances, and to score from those. We were not able to do that at the beginning, as ZTE defended well, and closed down the middle area of the pitch. We continued to press forward despite that, and this brought with it the result. We came out in the second half, knowing that the 1-0 scoreline was not enough, and was a dangerous lead to have. We continued with the same intensity during the game, and in the end we managed to score more goals. I am very proud of my players, and feel that they showed the right application for the game, and played well."
László Prukner: - "I would naturally like to congratulate Videoton. The biggest learning point from the game, is that I am slowly getting to know my team, and I can see who I can count on, and who I cannot as we go forward. The start was tough against Videoton, but we survived the opening period, before Videoton eventually scored their first goal. That goal was as a result of a defensive mistake. We tried to sort ourselves out in the half time break, and this was evident during the opening ten minutes of the second period. We had chances, which we could have scored from, and we also had a penalty appeal tunred down. However, from where I was standing, it was hard to judge whether it was. We then conceded the second goal following a ball forward, which did not appear dangerous. Videoton began to play with more ease following this, while several of our players lost their belief. We once again managed to sort ourselves out, and even scored a consolation goal. Some of my players are failing to hit the right levels when it comes to technique and tactics.
