Our 25-year-old defender will remain with Videoton next season.
We have extended the contract of our versatile defender, Krisztián Kovács. The 25-year-old player joined Videoton from Paks in the summer of 2025 and was a key player for our team last season. He started 18 league matches and appeared as a substitute in 7, scoring 1 goal, while he played in 3 matches in the MOL Hungarian Cup.

“It’s always encouraging for a player to know that the club counts on him, so of course I’m happy that we’ve extended my contract. I want to repay that trust, and I hope we can achieve the goals that the city and the fans deserve. The season behind us got off to a rough start, but overall we were able to finish the season on a positive note, and from now on we’re focusing on the future. “I will do everything I can for the team’s success both on and off the field; I want to help us achieve our goals by playing well,” Krisztián Kovács told our website after extending his contract.
“Krisztián Kovács is a versatile footballer with a great attitude both on and off the pitch, and that’s exactly the kind of player we need. He can play in multiple positions, is at a good age, and still has plenty of room for growth. Both sides envisioned continuing together, so we were able to quickly agree on the contract extension,” said sports director Nemanja Nikolics.
