With three league wins behind them, our team traveled to Békéscsaba on Monday evening, where we took to the field in front of 706 spectators at the Kórház utcai Stadium in a televised match. In the 7th minute, Borsos pulled inwards and then shot wide, which was the first noteworthy attempt of the match. In the 9th minute, Kelemen's shot was blocked by Virágh in front of the goal line, then Zsolnai's shot went wide to the bottom right. In the 19th minute, Spandler's long-range attempt missed the target, while in the 23rd minute, Somogyi shot over from 24 meters. In the 25th minute, we could have scored three times: first, Bedi's shot from the left was saved by the goalkeeper, then Somogyi and Zsótér's shots were cleared by the defenders in front of the goal.
Shortly afterwards, Simut's shot from the right created danger, and Németh's effort was saved by the home goalkeeper. In the 38th minute, Kuzma's shot went wide at the end of a counterattack, and five minutes before the end of the first half, Viczián headed over from a left-wing corner.
After a goalless but fast-paced and eventful first half, Nagy saved Zsolnai's 18-meter shot in the 48th minute, and ten minutes later we took the lead: Németh struck a sweet volley, which hit the right post and went into the net (0-1)! It was an impressive strike and put Vidi ahead. In the 65th minute, we could have doubled our lead when we were awarded a penalty, but Varga's shot to the bottom left corner was palmed away for a corner by the goalkeeper. After that, we made our first substitutions, with Haraszti and Zimonyi coming on. In the final minutes, Békéscsaba pushed forward to equalize. In the 82nd minute, we cleared Kelemen's close-range shot in front of the goal, and two minutes later, Viczián had a great chance, but Nagy Gergely made a very good save. In extra time, the home team pressed hard, and after a clearance, Borsos had a shot on goal, but Nagy made a huge save.
Our team won its fourth league victory in a row, winning in Békéscsaba for the first time in 24 years. On Sunday, we will continue at home against Karcag at the Sóstói Stadium.
