Born on 15th August 2007 in Budapest, Patrik Kovács started playing football at the age of 5. He has spent his entire youth career with Vasas, where he also played for the second team of Vasas in the NB III, and trained regularly with the club's first team.

The goal-scoring striker had several seasons of over 30 goals in the youth team, and in 2022/2023 he finished the season with a total of 25 goals for Vasas U16 and U17 teams.

He has topped his team's domestic scoring charts every year from U12 to U17, winning the top scorer title in 2018, 2019 and 2023, all three times playing in the same age group - and has won gold and silver medals with his teams in the national senior championship. He made his national team debut at U16 level, and was co-champion of the U17 team at the home Telki Cup. He signed his first professional contract in the summer 2023.
