Tamás Pető and Zsolt Hornyák, the head coach of the visitors, assessed the match that ended in a 1-0 win for Vidi.
Tamás Pető:
"The first game was very important, we wanted to start the spring season well. It was not a pretty match, but both sides fought hard. In the first half we were better than Puskás Akadémia, we had more chances, we scored a nice goal thanks to Matyi Katona's clever flick. In the second half we tried to play safe defence and make transitions from there. I think the players did a great job, I can only praise them. We prepared the team for that, it was good to see the fight the players put into the duels. That's the mentality of the team. Overall, we deserved to win this match."
Zsolt Hornyák:
"We started the game very badly, we showed this to the players at half-time. The first half was a disappointment for me, Vidi started much better, they were clearly more aggressive than us. We were slow and indecisive, it took us a long time to change the centre of gravity with the ball. This changed in the second half, we scored a goal, which unfortunately was disallowed. We did not deserve to win, maybe a draw was in the cards. We are not in ideal form yet, we had several players missing through injury and illness, which made it difficult for us. We have to play 90 minutes like we did for 35 minutes in the second. Vidi deserved to win, they collected more second balls and were more aggressive. We improved in the second half, but we couldn't change the result."
