ANDRÁS HUSZTI

"We know how important this match is for the city, the club and our fans"

With András Huszti, who has become a regular in the team, we looked back on the two 2025 league games played so far and discussed what could be the key to success against ETO.

In the first two rounds of the spring half-season, you were up against the likes of Lamin Colley, Ádám Martin and Dániel Böde. How difficult is it to stop such physical attackers?

I think it's much harder to play against these types of strikers than against small, agile strikers, because you can track them down, but when you have to stop them with your body, it's much harder. In most of the games so far we have managed to do this both as a team and individually, but in Paks we learned that in order to get a good result, no mistake is too big. We have to eliminate those too!

In Paks, the home side had 33 crosses, 31 of which were dealt with, but the Green and Whites converted two of them to win the match.

This is Paks' football and they played it very well. We are prepared for it, but against such strong and experienced forwards it is terribly difficult to win every ball for a full game. Unfortunately, it is part of football that an experienced opponent will punish the slightest mistake immediately. It's a bad feeling that it turned out like this, because we wanted to win. We must strive to be even more efficient, next time we should head away 32 out of 33 and I hope Dala Martin will catch the remaining one (laughs).

In the winter, you have changed from the previous safer five-guard defensive system to a three-man line-up with an even higher stacked attack. How much has your role changed?

My role has largely remained the same, the pressing was one on one at the back last year. We need to organise that more carefully and with more discipline on the pitch and then we can't go wrong.

On Friday, a real derby will take place, as ETO FC Győr, will visit Székesfehérvár, having beaten Újpest 3-0. What could be the secret of our success?

The most important thing is to carry the mentality that we showed at home against Puskás Akadémia and I think also in Paks into this game. We know how important this match is for the city, the club and our fans. We've been preparing all week to be mentally and tactically ready for the match. We will do everything we can to be successful!
