Lirim Kastrati was born on the 16th January 1999 in Hogosht. At the age of 12, he was first signed as a player for Kosovo's FK Kika, before moving on to play for Albania's Shkëndija Tiranë and Croatia's Lokomotiva Zagreb. At the age of 18, he signed his first professional contract with the latter club, where he scored 23 goals in 80 league games in almost three years. In 2020, Dinamo Zagreb signed Kastrati, where he scored two goals and five assists in 32 league games. Most recently he played for Legia Warsaw, appearing in 16 league games for the Polish side. He made his debut for Kosovo in 2018, making 17 appearances for the national team and scoring his only goal in the 1-0 win over Moldova in the Nations League, while also providing three assists for the national team.
