The Transdanubian derby started at a good pace. In the 8th minute Stefulj raced down the left, his dangerous cross was blocked by Csaba Spandler. In the 14th minute, our new captain again made a great tackle, flicking the ball away from a Győr striker who was in a position to score. ETO defended high, which made it difficult to get the ball out. Milán Pető was still on target, his shot was blocked and Simut's cross was saved by goalkeeper Petrás.
In the 20th minute, Bumba's 14 metre shot bounced off a hand, VAR reviewed the incident, no penalty was awarded. Holender's effort followed, he raced inside the penalty area, his shot found no one in the middle to convert. In the 36th minute, Katona's rebounded shot was saved by Petrás. In the second half, the visitors could have taken the lead, but Bumba's shot on goal was blocked by Huszti.
The first chance of the second half came in the 52nd minute, when Mátyás Katona broke through on goal and powered over the top in a promising position. In the 58th minute, our head coach made a double substitution, replacing Pető, Katona with Sekularac and Saponjics. The match continued with the ball mainly in the middle of the pitch and neither goal being in danger.
In the 72nd minute, the Green and Whites took the lead: a left-wing cross was headed into the goal by Stefulj from 3 metres out, between two defenders (0-1). There were a lot of changes on both sides, which prevented the build-up of attacks. Mátyás Kovács was also thrown onto the pitch by Tamás Pető, but the minutes were quickly running out. There was only one big shot from Fehérvár left in the game, but it didn't result in a goal either. ETO won the match 1-0.
