From the kick-off, our team took control immediately. The high press attack worked well, the balls we hit foward led to corners, and in the 8th minute Csaba Spandler's 26-metre powerful strike required a good save from Barnabás Kecskés in the home goal.

In the 10th minute, Vidi's dominance turned into a goal: Ivan Saponjic fought for the ball between two defenders and put the ball into the net past the diving goalkeeper (0-1). We stayed on the attack, and in the 18th minute Ivan Milicevic's cross was headed against the left post by Simeon Petrov. Our newly signed Bulgarian defender remained a focal point later on; Milan Papp elbowed him inside the penalty area. The referee first awarded a free kick outwards, and after a VAR review, he stood by the original decision.

In the 34th minute, Mátyás Katona took a free-kick, but Kecskés denied him. The match went quiet, the players were mainly fighting in the middle of the pitch for the ball. Then, in the 45th minute, a ball bouncing back and forth inside the penalty area from the feet of a home defender found Saponjic, who calmly rolled the ball into the net for his and his team's second goal (0-2).

During the break, Tamás Pető made no substitutions. Gyirmót tried much harder than in the first half, they had more possession, but they could not create any chances in front of Gergely Nagy. In the 55th minute there was a quick move from Fehérvár on the left side: a cross from Milicevic was met by Mátyás Kovács but it went wide of the post. Refreshing substitutions arrived: the two-goal Saponjic was replaced by Nicolas Stefanelli, while Mátyás Kovács was replaced by Milán Pető. Gyirmót tried hard, but could not find a gap in the visiting defence. In the 70th minute, Stefanelli's effort was saved and after a nice Huszti-Pető combination, Peto's shot from the block was cleared away from danger.

Zsolt Kalmár also came on in the second half, Mátyás Katona was given a rest. Milicevic missed a shot, and in the 88th minute Kicsun's free-kick was saved by Nagy. A few minutes before the end, Bedi's cross was brilliantly volleyed towards goal by Stefanelli, the Argentine striker was just a few centimetres off target and the result remained the same. The result remained the same. After Saponjics' double in the first half, the second half was well managed and the team reached the last eight in the MOL Hungarian Cup.
