The position of Kecskemét is deceptive, as Zoltán Gera's team has lost only once in the last five rounds, and KTE has two wins and two draws
On Friday evening at 20:00 we visit the home of Kecskemét TE. This will be the 23rd match between the two teams in the top league. In the 22 games so far, we have won 11 of them and drawn four while losing seven. The goal difference is 42-27 in our favour, which means a three goals per game average. In the first round of the current season, the KTE - Vidi match ended in a 0-0 draw, and in November we won 6-1 at the Sóstói Stadion.
In 2016, the team finished fourth in the county's first division, in 2017 KLC was relegated to second place in a big battle, but in 2018 they managed to win the championship with an almost flawless performance, and after a successful game against Hajdúböszörmény, the team was promoted to the NB III, where they finished second behind Iváncsa in the 2020/2021 season, but since the Fejér county team did not play in NB II, Kecskemét could start in the second division in the 2021/2022 season. To their surprise, KTE finished second in the NB II behind Vasas, and in two years the purple and white team made it from NB III to NB I, where the miracle continued, as Kecskemét won second place in the NB I after promotion, while in the previous season they finished 6th. This year, however, Friday's opponents are battling to avoid relegation, with KTE currently in last place with 19 points, but 8 of these 19 points have been picked up in the last five rounds, which means that Zoltán Gera's team is in good form.
Kecskemét have lost only two of their last ten league games, FTC 1-0 and PAFC 4-2. In addition, Kecskemét have five draws and three wins in their last ten league games.
KTE's most successful player in the league is Dániel Lukács with four goals.
