Vidi defeated Puskás Akadémia FC II on Thursday afternoon with goals from Varga, Dékei, Bertók, and Németh.
On Thursday afternoon, we hosted Puskás Akadémia FC's second team in our first friendly match of the winter preparation period. Head coach Tamás Pető named 24 players in his match squad, including several of our own youth players, and Kende Köllő, who has been on trial with our team in recent days, also got a chance to play during the match.

The match started at a good pace, with Varga's long-range shot giving the opposing goalkeeper work to do in the second minute. Four minutes later, we took the lead: after a nice corner pass, Varga found himself in position and made no mistake from close range (1–0). In the 10th minute, after a free kick by the visiting side, Ominger was injured in a collision and was replaced by Murka. In the 13th minute, the visitors threatened after winning the ball, but the shot missed our goal.
In the 18th minute, Simut committed a foul inside the box, and Yablonsky equalized from the penalty spot (1–1). Shortly afterwards, they were awarded another penalty, but Gergely Nagy made a good save from Varga's shot. In the 29th minute, the visitors threatened again, but Spandler blocked the shot, while the effort after the corner flew over the bar.
In the 31st minute, we were awarded a penalty after Simut was fouled: Dékei confidently converted the spot kick, regaining the lead (2–1). There were more chances at the end of the first half: in the 36th minute, Dékei's shot deflected off a defender, but the goalkeeper was able to save it, and then a free kick from Puskas flew over the bar. In the 40th minute, keeper Gergely Nagy made another smart save from a header, while in the 45th minute, Virágh's cross found Kovács Patrik in a good position, but his close-range shot went over the bar, so we went into the break with a 2–1 lead. We changed our lineup for the second half, and started well again and played almost the entire second half in our opponent's defensive third. In the 53rd minute, Bertók scored with his left foot from 13 meters out (3-1). In the 66th minute, Németh headed over the bar after a cross from Zsótér on the left, and a minute later, Bedi's shot from the left was saved by the goalkeeper. In the 76th minute, Németh converted Zsótér's cross from the left with a nice move, scoring Vidi's fourth goal of the match (4-1). In the 80th minute, Kőszegi-Hofmann had a chance, but he misjudged the ball. In the 87th minute, Bertók's shot was saved by the goalkeeper, then Németh's header was the final effort of the match
Our team started their series of pre-season matches with a 4-1 victory. The next match will be played on Saturday at 1 p.m. at MTK Budapest's home ground, behind closed doors.
