FTC visit on Sunday evening

On Sunday at 18:00 we host the 35-time Hungarian champions Ferencváros.

On Sunday 23rd February at 18:00, we will face FTC for the 115th time in the top division. Of the 114 games played against each other, FTC have won 55 of them, with 31 draws and 28 victories. The goal difference is 186-121 in favour of the capital team, resulting in an average of almost three goals per game.

In the last five years, between 2020 and 2024, we have played 15 NB1 matches against the record champions, winning two of them and drawing three, while the Budapest club has won ten. The last time we managed to defeat the Green and Whites at home was in Roland Juhász's farewell match, on 23rd June 2020, we kept the points at home with a goal from Roland Juhász, our former captain, who later went on to become coach and sporting director, who was playing his last NB I match.

Ferencváros head coach Pascal Jansen left in the winter, replaced by Irishman Robbie Keane, and he is still winless in the Hungarian league after four NB I games.

FTC did well in Europe, reaching the last 24 in the Europa League, but were beaten by Czech side Plzen in the play-off for the last 16. FTC won 1-0 at home, but in the return leg on Thursday night they were beaten 3-0 by their Czech opponents and were eliminated from the competition.

In the Hungarian league, the defending champions are stumbling, picking up only two of the 12 points they have earned in four league matches this calendar year. They played out a 2-2 draw at home to ZTE and also managed to pick up a point against MTK at home. After 20 rounds, they are 5 points behind the leaders from Felcsút.

FTC's most successful player in the league is Barnabás Varga with nine goals.
