Videoton FC will meet Partizan in a friendly game due to the international break.
FK Partizan were formed back in 1945 and are just 4 years younger than Vidi. Their name came from the soldiers of the young peoples army movement who named the club Partizan. They became the first eastern European side to reach the final of the European Champions cup in 1965. They suffered a defeat to Real Madrid in the final of the European Cup a year later in 1966. Videoton would go on to do the same some 20 years later as they reached the final of the UEFA cup in 1985. Vidi lost to the Spanish giants in the two-legged final, but they did manage to beat the Yugoslavian star side, Partizan on the way to the final that year. Lovely memories of the 5-0 win will never be forgotten.
The Serbian side have won the domestic league title 26 times. They have also lifted the cup 13 times in their history. Momčilo Vukotić has the most appearances for the club with an impressive 791 games! Stjepan Bobek has scored the most goals for them over the years setting a record with 425 goals to his name.
There have been just 2 seasons since 2008 when FK Partizan have not ended up as champions. 2014 and 2016 saw Crvena Zvezda finish ahead of Partizan. This season in the Serbian league after 15 matches, Friday's opponents find themselves 6 points behind last seasons champions and are currently in 2nd place.
The Serbian clubs current squad is valued at around 17 million euros. The highest value player is Nemanja Mihajlovic who was born in 1996. He has a price tag of around 2 million. Mihajlovic together with four other players (Uros Djurdjevic, Nikola Milenkovic, Miroslav Bogosavac és Dusan Vlahovic) will not be taking part in the friendly match in Hungary. That is due to them being called up for the Serbian youth side.
