Dénes's first-half goal decided the outcome of our team's league match on Sunday, which BVSC-Zugló won 1-0.
In the 28th round of the Merkantil Bank Liga NB II, our team took to the pitch at BVSC-Zugló’s home stadium on a very warm and sunny afternoon. Head coach Tamás Pető selected the following starting lineup: Kemenes – Köllő, Spandler, Hesz – Zsótér, Somogyi, Murka, Simut, Bedi – Varga, Németh.

In the 10th minute, the home team had their first chance: Törőcsik’s shot from 8 meters, aimed at the left side of the goal, was cleared off the goal line by Zsótér, who dived to block it. In response, in the 12th minute, the home goalkeeper parried Simut’s shot from the right side. In the 18th minute, both sides had chances: after a corner, Kemenes saved Palincsár’s shot, then Németh got on the end of a cross from the left; Vinícius couldn’t clear it, and Petroff made a good save from our attacker’s close-range shot. Midway through the first half, we were forced to make a substitution; the injured Németh was replaced by Zimonyi.
In the 32nd minute, following a corner, Zsótér took aim at the home goal from 22 meters out, but the ball bounced off the crossbar and over. In the 36th minute, Kemenes blocked Farkas’s close-range shot, but BVSC took the lead from the resulting corner: Dénes curled the ball into the far top corner of our goal from the right side straight from his corner kick (1-0). In the 40th minute, at the end of a counterattack, our goalkeeper blocked Farkas’s shot from the left side.
At half-time, Milán Virágh came on to replace Köllő. In the 50th minute, we had two chances: first, the goalkeeper saved a close-range shot, then Zsótér shot over the bar. In the 56th minute, Kemenes confidently saved Ominger’s shot from 15 meters, and then Bartusz came on to replace Bedi. In the 71st minute, Ominger’s deflected shot went out for a corner; a minute later, Duló broke through on a clear chance, but Kemenes made a very good save. BVSC-Zugló won the match 1-0; our team will next take the field at Szentlőrinc’s home stadium next Sunday at 5 p.m.
In the 87th minute, the home team’s attackers failed to connect with Dénes’s shot in front of the goal, and in the 88th minute, our goalkeeper made a smart save at the bottom right corner following Vérten’s shot at the end of a counterattack. Unfortunately, our play lacked punch even in the final minutes, while the home team defended in an organized manner and launched dangerous counterattacks. At the end of the four-minute stoppage time, Kemenes deflected Pekár’s free kick away for a corner at the near post.
